It has been a while.. but good news it is.

So my final day of departure is finally approaching! I leave in 33 days for the United World Games in Vienna, Austria! This will be my second year to go. I was the only US bowler to medal in singles last year.. so I hope to do much better this summer. It turns out that the lady I lost to from Latvia is currently ranked number 24th in all of Europe... so I do not feel so bad as to lose to her lol.

My state tournament is fastly approaching, I hope I am ready. I suffered a really bad knee injury late last year and I am just now able to work through that. My averaged has suffered deeply, going down 5 pins from last year. It is sad I know, but I look at it as I get more handicap haha.

I am really stoked about working with Jeri Edwards again. She has so much knowledge I think I could sit with her for days just learning and never get tired of it. She pumped my game so much from last year.. I can not wait to see what she does this year. As for travelling... I hate flying lol. But I have to take three planes to get there and three flights coming home which is sad. I am not going to Jr. Gold because I did not earn a spot. Sucks being in a handful of girls with a ton of guys, plus my knee didn't help me out very much.

So I believe this is it for this blog. It will most likely be after I return from Austria before I write again. I do not believe any reads this anyways... HAHA. But it is nice to have a space where I can vent frustrations and excitment building!

    God Bless

    United World Games!

    Thursday, July 26, 2007, 11:35 PM [General]

I went to the United World Games that were held in Vienna, Austria this summer. I had the opprotunity to work with Team USA Head Coach, Jeri Edwards. I was the only US Bowler to medal in singles where I brought home the bronze. I was defeated by Diana from Latvia, after I defeated Becky from England.

I was also named the Lewis Ray Greater Fort Worth USBC Youth Female Bowler of the Year! I am super stoked about this award! But I am heading to Waco, TX on the 3rd for the USBC TX Youth Queens tournament. I have always wanted to do this tournament ever since I started bowling when I was 5 years old lol.

But on one last note, I am turning 18 in 27 days! woot woot no longer a child, although I am going to miss it. Because never again, will I be a child. Only 17 years as a child and then many many more as an adult and I do not feel that kids these days appreciate their very own childhood. So yeah, 18 in less than a month! WOO HOO!
